Beauty Is Skin Deep

Updated: Jan 2

True beauty lies skin deep.

It’s what’s beneath the surface of me

That shapes the radiance you see.

My inner light—the real glow-up—Turns heads,

makes others throw up up their hands and say:

"Her face, so simple, yet there’s something more—

Something that makes every moment with her a treasure to store."

My inner light—the real glow-up—

Turns heads, makes others throw up

Their hands and say:

"Her face, so simple, yet there’s something more—

Something that makes every moment with her a treasure to store."

In quiet boldness, my conduct speaks.

It’s her love for her Creator and herself

That makes her presence worth more than any wealth.

Whether I wear matted strands, a puff, or sleek tresses,

You’ll see my beauty extends far beyond

The outward adorning of curls or dresses.

It isn’t shaped by MAC, Sephora, or Ulta’s shelves.

No—my beauty was knitted and fashioned

By the true Artist who beautifies the earth, the wind, the seas, and me.

That’s why the beauty in me is and always will be—skin deep.
