The Cycle of Love and Conflict
I love you; I hate you; I don’t even think I want to date you
Wait! I can relate to you, so now is a good time for us to be faithful
Tomorrow comes, and something happens, so now I am all done
Even though I can't remember what caused our connection to no longer be fun
I got it! You didn’t listen to my words about this and that
And in the end, you called me a brat!

The Temptation That Always Wins
I love you; I hate you, but when I indulge you, it is so tasteful
Today, I will have a little of you, and tomorrow, a lot
The next day, I feel like crap and then regret the layers that I put on
You know, the ones they call fat
Quickly, my yearning for you overpowers the aversion
And then you no longer seem like a burden. I maintain our unhealthy bond
knowing we will soon have another one of our monthly spats
The internal battles that happen because our relationship is out of whack

Chasing Perfection
I love you, I hate you, so I run to everything that can change you
Serums, moisturizers, piercings and makeovers
I wish I had a brush that was able to paint you over
I would illustrate my cheeks so that they are high, and a little more unique
Remove the bump from my nose so that it lays straight and pointy with the perfect two holes
Completely dismiss my lips and recreate them so they always appear to glisten, like I am wearing the perfect lipstick

Winning the Internal Battle
I love you, I hate you a familiar battle that will try to overtake
The bold, the meek, the energetic, and the so-called weak
It's an internal struggle that we do have the power to WIN
Once we realize that healthy relationships begin
When we relate to ourselves positively from within
